A Texas month-to-month rental agreement lets landlords and tenants create leases of property that may be terminated regardless of how long the lease has been in effect. Unlike standard leases, which often require a certain occupancy period before the lease may be ended, month-to-month leases may be terminated at any time, as long as the notice requirements are satisfied. Month-to-month leases are also known as tenancies at will. Parties may seek out this arrangement if their future plans are uncertain.
A tenancy from month to month may be terminated by the tenant or the landlord giving notice of termination to the other at least one (1) month before.
